Marc Hype aus Berlin begann seine Karriere 1988. Anfangs inspiriert durch Run DMC’s Jam Master Jay, durchlief er die verschiedenen Dekaden des Hip Hop mit zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen, Touren und Competitions wie die der International Turntablist Federation, die ihn in den Jahren 1998 & 1999 zum Deutschen Meister kürten.
Während dieser Zeit kollaborierte er mit einer Vielzahl an Künstlern wie der Juice Crew Legende Masta Ace, Souls Of Mischief, Edo G., Zion I, DJ Z-Trip, Patrick Pulsinger, Killa Kela, Akrobatik & Mr. Lif.
Im Jahr 2004 traf er in Berlin auf den klassisch ausgebildeten Pianisten Jim Dunloop, der schon seit seinem vierten Lebensjahr spielt und Anfang der 90er Jahre Teil der Düsseldorfer Fresh Familee war . Schnell begannen sie an einer gemeinsamen Kollabo zu arbeiten, welche zu ersten Veröffentlichungen auf dem Milk Crate Label 2005 führte. „Antique Anthem“, „Bombay Raw“ und „Finale ’74“ fanden schnell ihren festen Platz in den Plattenkoffern der internationalen Dj-Szene. Gefolgt von der Coverversion von Babe Ruth’s „The Mexican“, die unter anderem von Jazzman Gerald als „DIE“ Version des Songs betitelt wurde, begann man an einem Album zu arbeiten.
2009 erschien ihr Debut „Stamp Out Reality“ auf Melting Pot Music mit illustren Gästen wie der Funklegende Blowfly, Malena Perez, Mr. Complex, Flomega und Lady Daisey. Mit der Zeit wurden auch viele Remixe für Künstler wie All Good Funk Alliance, Deela, Kid Gusto oder Danny Massure produziert.
Ihre internationalen Touren und Gigs führten ihn bisher in Länder wie den USA, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Kambodscha, Vietnam, Singapur, Vereinigte Arabische Emirate, Russland, Israel, Indien und Australien.
Die Liveperformance von Hype & Dunloop kann am ehesten defi niert werden als ein Mix aus den hohen Künsten des Djing, Turntablism und Piano Spiels. Zusammen spiegeln sie mehr als 50 Jahre Musikerfahrung wieder!

Marc Hype began his DJ career, inspired by the late great Jam Master Jay, in 1988 and went through the several decades of hip hop with countless releases, tours and competitions like the ITF championships, which he won twice in 98 & 99. During this time he collaborated and recorded with artists like the Juice Crew legend Masta Ace, Souls Of Mischief, DJ Z-Trip, Killa Kela & Mr. Lif.
Jim Dunloop began to train as a classical piano player at the age of four. At his minor age he was analyzing the compositions of Gershwin and Bruback, leading to a keen interest in jazz music. He quickly developed his knowledge of the creative works of many great jazz/funk pianists such as Herbie Hancock , Bob James , Chick Corea and Adam Makiewicz.
In the year 2004 they both met in Berlin for the first time and quickly began to collaborate on shows and production. Their first vinyl releases on the infamous Milk Crate label, „The Antique Anthem“, „Bombay Raw“ & „Finale 74“, were very succesful in the worldwide dj-circuit, followed by a cover version of Babe Ruth’s „The Mexican“ in 2006, which was dubbed by UK’s Jazzman Gerald as „the“ version to have.
In 2009 their debut album „Stamp out Reality“ was released on MPM Rec. which featured artists like the legendary Blowfly, Mr Complex, Flomega & Lady Daisey to name a few.
On the remix tip they build a strong reputation with works for artists like All Good Funk Alliance, Deela, Danny Massure or Kid Gusto.
Their past tour schedule proved their ability to rock internationaly with stops allover europe as in NYC, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, United Arabian Emirates, Russia, India, Israel & Australia.
The live performance of Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop is best defined as a mix of DJing, Turntablism and the highest of piano art. Together they gain over 50 years of musical experience!
